Need help on installing a DD unit in my 04 tahoe

I hooked mines up to the light green wire in the A-pillar on the driver side. The lt green is located in the rearview mirror as well.

I forgot about gentex mirrors using reverse signal to disable the dimming!

great, thanks for the help. i'll check the A-pillar for the wire. can't wait to finally get this thing in.

I was going to mention the grn wire in the a-pillar but looks like someone already has. Tnis is where I catch all my reverse inputs on these trucks (pre-nav model yrs). Good luck man.

RE XM adapter

Vatahoelt, i have an 04 and installed pretty much the same things you are putting in or have already installed. i think only my headunit is different. i installed the kenwood 5120 and i used the following XM adapter and it works well..

thanks stik, that helps out a lot. unfortunately, 20+ inches of snow have put a damper on my install plans this weekend. so this will have to wait a little longer. i can't wait though.

You must be in NJ cuz I have the same snow issues.
I have an 04 and would like to do pretty much the same as you are doing.
I have a stock fac nav installed but it sucks. I also want to keep the stock drop down DVD player and not lose the steering wheel controls

is there not a way to just break the plastic off the xm antenna input so you dont have to buy an adapter?

actually i'm in Virginia. it basically snowed for the entire day last saturday. my back is dead from all the shoveling i did.

is there not a way to just break the plastic off the xm antenna input so you dont have to buy an adapter?

i've read other people say that they were able to do that. thursday i have the day off, so i'm going to attempt to install all this stuff. i'll let you know what i find.
