Needed Information

So while working on my 2004 Tahoe, and it needs some serious TLC, just picked her up used. I noticed a slide switch on the upper HVAC auxilary control on the between the outside of the console and the drivers sun visor. I have looked in the owners manual that I downloaded but have not been able to find what it is for. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

Sliding switch, notice switch on outside of console or left side as you look at it.

That's the OnStar microphone. It will slide along the side if pulled or pushed.

You couldn't if you wanted to. Analog OnStar was discontinued several years ago.

Thanks, Brother! Were you in the 101st? I was about 5 jumps away from getting my wreath when I transferred to a leg unit. I never rappelled out of a chopper but I liked flying in them.

Back in 2004 I was in Kuwait with a WY NG unit. One of our sister units was an air-ambulance company and they took 4 of us from my unit on an all day "training mission" (AKA joy ride) from Camp Buehring in Kuwait up to Tallil Airbase in Iraq in a Blackhawk. It was awesome: Balls-to-the-wall, 160 knots full speed and - no kidding - about 25' - 50' off the ground! It was crazy.
