Do you still have to use your internet connection since the mirroring didn't work with the Apple TV?

I'm gonna look into doing it this way in addition to the gmx560 I already have.

You can actually change the settings so when mirroring it will use your internet connection on your phone - you just won't be able to have an internet connection for the actual AppleTV built-in interface. Although you could just let your phone be a wifi hotspot to solve that issue.

See this link for how this guy set up his Airport Express in his car:

You don't need an internet connection when it's hooked up through the iPhone or iPad to play stuff stored on the device. If you want to use apps like Netflix then you would need an internet connection and I wouldn't recommend that without unlimited data.

The Apple TV wouldn't let me airplay any videos without itself being connected to the internet. I tried to make my phone a hotspot as well but was still having issues. That's when I gave up on running it, it was just more trouble than it was worth. Plugging a lightning cable into the device and mirroring just works.

The kivic one sounds real promising too.

Looks nice. A little pricey but cleaner overall install.

I'm happy with the way it works. I rarely use it anyways.

I might pull the console apart and see if I can move the rca jacks to inside the console and put an ac plug in their place.

Thanks guys. Nav bypass came in today so time to take the center dash off for the 2nd time. Forgot to mention I replaced the AC controls after I bought it. The fan control buttons were worn and bright green :chair:. The new one has the external temp as some others have mentioned. I haven't had any with the fan speed or cooling with the new unit.

Where'd you get the new one? My fan speed and power button are jacked, looks like hell. I'm thinking about overlays, but got a link to the one you bought?

Truck looks strangely familiar lol

Got the ac controls from Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0049481YA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I looked at all the ones on eBay and wasn't much more to get a new one. The overlays can be a band aid, just make sure you prep the button well.

Same truck. Only difference is the power running boards which I have mixed feelings on.

Only issue so far is some ******* taking 2 of the caps off the wheels. Let my wife take it to the mall and it happens there. She parks far out to avoid other cars and gets repaid with this. Local dealer in Irvine wasn't too bad $38 a piece. Another dealer that sells Caddys as well as GMC wanted double.

My dad has had '12 platinum f150, great truck, but the power running boards are already giving him trouble. I'm guessing the winter and mild off-roading is not good for them. Not to durable.

My tpms is acting up but that's all.

nice Denali bud!

Thanks!

I just had all the driveline fluids changed and also finished my HID retrofit :party52:

I'll try to get some pics up soon. Next up will probably be the G5 smoked tails. I'm a little confused as to whether I need the Escalade appliqués or not though. Any suggestions? It's hard to tell from pictures how much of a difference they really make.

Did you do projectors or just throw HIDS in the stock headlights? What brand? How's the output?

IMO on black try m you could get away without doing the appliqués. Up close it will be noticeable but not from far away

Both my 09 and 11 Yukons have G5 tails. One has the esky appliqués the other doesn't. Both look good but it all depends on how ocd you are lol.
