Underpowered for you... I get it. But 365HP isn't underpowered for majority of the world.
My biggest complaint is the inability to hold overdrive at speed, and that's because it simply doesn't have the adequate torque to maintain RPM when more torque is needed to maintain speed.
If one tends to use the interstate, one might be satisfied as long as the road is flat, and the truck only has front seat occupants, and hauling nothing.
Add some passengers, luggage and well, nothing else except hills and a little speed you are in a world of hurt. That is unless you don't mind shifts.
Hey guys driving in city and driving in freeway is not the same for any car absolutely not. This is the biggest complaint I have of the new engine/transmission. Even the Denali doesn't seem as effortless as 6.2 liters of V8 engine would suggest. The V8 GL450 (I believe the 2015s use twin turbo V6s) would waft along city streets, keeping up with traffic while barely breaking 2000rpm. On the highway, no downshift was needed except for spirited passing maneuvers. An Infiniti QX80 (nee QX56) I drove fairly recently was the same way. In my view, even the Denali feels a bit like a V6 in terms of driving characteristics.
Well if that's what we're comparing then yes. My F250 with a H&S programer, full deletes, and exhaust will walk the dog on our Yukon. And any other red light renegade that pulls up. But to say it's underpowered is a bit much I think. Personally I guess I don't notice it. Granted it's no Vette, but I feel it does ok.LOL..
Really?
Maybe I'm spoiled. My Ford F-350 Powerstroke was dynode at 579/1181 hp/tq to the ground, and that's my daily driver.
So when I drive my wifes sled, its a little disappointing.
I guess power isn't something that you value as much as me.
Well folks, it's not about horsepower in an aerodynamic brick, heavyweight sled like this.. It's about torque to weight.
And 383lbs. vs. 460lbs of torque is night and day.
The 5.3L simply can not handle overdrive ratios at speed unless the road is flat. Toss in a hill at 75, and you are shifting to maintain speed, especially if its windy.
I drive the Buffalo to DC regularly, and if you aren't familiar with I-76 in PA, it will bring out the warts in an underpowered vehicle...
You cant GIVE me another 5.3L. I guess some of you guys can settle, but I simply don't have to and won't..
