It's metal like all the other felptro gaskets. It doesn't leak if you torque it properly..

Odd. I would have expected to see a rubber impregnated metal one for this application rather than plain steel

OE is rubber impregnated metal

New one is just metal

Called the local gm dealership and the gasket they have on hand is metal like the one I have.

Not sure if it's an updated design or not. But hopefully this will help anyone who stumbles across it.

It was installed dry and torqued to 106 inch pounds. Will post back how it holds
