I'd be pretty upset too. Salesmen and dealerships are such slimeballs. All they care about is getting the deal closed. They will tell you they'll do this or that and treat you like a king but the moment you sign the papers, they have your money and couldn't care less and move on to the next deal. IMO, you should get a new truck and reimbursed for time lost at work. Personally I get paid on production. If I lose a day of work trying to fix a problem with a brand new car, I just lost a lot of money for something that could have been avoided but of course they don't care about the value of your time. If you know someone that is an attorney, you should have them send the dealership a letter saying you have retained them as your lawyer and you will go to litigation if needed. Generally when they see a letter on letterhead, they make it right b/c they know attorneys are bigger slimeballs then they are and will suck them dry on attorneys fees.

Right but at least my case is pretty cut and dry. Bought the truck brought it back for sevice a few days later balance tires and rail dust removal. Then came and picked up my truck 3 days later that was dirty parked in a back dark lot that had been damaged by the dealer. ( I think they were trying to hide the damage) notified the dealer that it was damaged before i ever left the lot. My dealer was even so bold to not take responsibility They called gm and said the truck was damaged in shipping to the dealer. But got in trouble because i had allready talked to gm and started a case about 2 weeks earlier explaing the issue i was having with this dealer.

So now GM will claim the independant dealer did the damage.

And the dealer says it arrived to them damaged.

You've got one heck of a mess.

Have you spoken to the GM of the dealership and not just the sales manager? If not do so. GMs usually don't like to hassle with heat so they just tell the sales manager to handle it. Secondly is this a private, solely owned dealership or is it part of a group like Sonic, Van Tuyl, AutoNation? If it is part or a corporation you may need to take it to the corporate office.

17 years of dealership experience here so I have seen many issues in my time. Also not ALL dealerships, sales people and finance guys are slimeballs but sadly there are many out there who care about the money now and not taking care of the customer for longevity of income that we tend to get a shit rap.

Well if you already had talked to GM and the dealer got in trouble by trying to blame it on GM, then I wonder WHY GM does NOT take care of the issue as they experienced first hand that your delaer is a slimeball?????

Its not that gm wont do anything but i keep getting put on the back burnner by the district specialist and feild rep. They say and i understand the rep has to see the truck but has been unavalible to do so. I think they are just trying to wear me down. I realy just want the issue fixed and im not 1 to give up i will win. and this dealer is my local dealer and i try to buy local and i have talked to the owner BRUCE of HOVE BUICK GMC in BRADLEY IL and the only solution they are willing to do is wax it.

only advice i have is to say screw everybody and take matters into your own hands, go out and get a 3m paint restoration kit for $50 and the required equipment, eg. microfiber clothes, spray bottle, pads, etc., i recommend doing it by hand, it requires force and a lot of elbow grease but you get a better result than with a buffer, follow the directions and repeat if necessary, and btw, if you have black paint, i suggest also using the turtle wax black box with the 3m kit, i had swirls on my paint, i took it to a shop in beverly hills that had $250k super cars out front, and they did an ok job but i was still not satisfied, spent 8 hours doing it myself and i sat there another 30 minutes just marveling at how good it turned out, if you want something done right, do it yourself, its not too late to save your paint, just be careful on the wet sand step of the 3m kit, its the most risky part, dont apply too much pressure and keep it wet wet wet at all times, so for around $100 and 8 hours of work, you can make it look flawless
