It used to be with state reciprocity, you could get a permit in Fla, home state, and maybe one other, and be covered for almost everywhere. This was about 15 years ago though, and states have screwed that all up.
Before 9-11 no law enforcement could carry across state lines--officially--and carry off duty. After 9-11 happened President Bush signed a bill stating any law enforcement could carry coast to coast. At the time I worked in NJ but bought a house in Pa, so I used to commute every day. Pa state troopers stopped me one day--some dumb shit--and we started talking. Of course I was in uniform with my weapon, and I asked about the bill Bush had signed. They said they didn't honor that. Well....Pa is part of the US, and Bush is their president....so..They were ******* idiots. Pa does pretty much give anyone without a criminal record a concealed carry permit--in the poconos anyway. I doubt they would in Philadelphia or any other big city--could be wrong about that tho.

I am in Arizona, no permit required :) Pretty gun friendly state. However, we have LOTS of problems with our politicians right now.

I want to travel to South Dakota and or Texas to do some hunting but scared to death of gun laws in all neighboring states. Colorado, New Mexico, and California are all gun grabbers.

Need to reach out again to @915_Tahoe for help. I am trying to get Genuine GM parts for the starter and both battery cable sets. Last 8 of VIN is 5R221385.

I can only find a reman starter at RA that is AC Delco #323-1644 but I think I have the GM number for a new one and is 89018123?

Positive cable as AC Delco is 2SD79CX but the two GM numbers I came up with are 19295324 or 15372005, correct?

Negative cable as AC Delco is 2SX321A but the lone GM number I find is 15321212, correct?

I do appreciate your help every time. Thanks.

There is a quick cheat for part numbers... type your vin into gmpartsdirect.com then search the part. it will give you part number.

I just drive without magazine in the gun when traveling across state lines (unless I feel the need to rack one in). I'm probably wrong but I don't see what they can do about an unloaded gun in a vehicle.

Maybe you're talking about carrying everywhere...yea, thats different.

Depends on where you are. Technically, in the City and County of Denver, you’re not allowed to CCW, or even have one in your vehicle IIRC. Good reason to avoid Denver. [emoji35][emoji2959] however, State law supercedes city / county, so it would be useless to write someone up for it. Now that we have states (counties really) declaring 2nd amendment sanctuaries, from overreaching federal mandates, I’m not sure how that would go down. Likely a decision for the SCOTUS.

Either way, it’s wise to remove all ammunition from it in certain areas. But of course, that will be a serious problem if you end up needing it. I need to research this.. taking a road trip to SD in July. In the past, NRA had this all detailed online and you could just print the state laws for the states you’re driving through. Hopefully that’s still available.
