ive noticed, when it does overheat, it builds up a LOT of pressure in the cooling system, so much to where it starts forcing steam out of the hoses back by the heater core bypass valve

Steam = pressure. Figure out why the water is turning to steam and fix that ...

You could have a cracked head and it's blowing combustion gas into the cooling system. Is the coolant rusty colored?

Starter is probably toast after all the coolant that's been leaking on it.:roflsquared:

I'm going to guess that your intake gaskets are leaking. Once you get low on coolant the sensor gets hot. Air in the system is making steam.

Back to square one. Figure out where the coolant is going. Check the back of the block above the starter and check the oil cap to see if it's orange/red. Check the oil for coolant. How many miles on it?

The start issue.
Does it still have side post terminals?
Can you turn the cables on the battery when they are tight?
If so but a small washer between the bolt and cable. This will cause the bolt to hold the cable tighter.

The overheating, I would agree sounds like a head or head gasket. Pull the plugs and see if you have one or two real clean ones.
I vote not intake because they will not pressurize the cooling system, a head/gasket will.

I'd almost bet steam is being pushed out through blown intake gasket, and heads are defiantly cracked. TTY bolts after heating up like that will let go too.
