Glad you seem to be getting things figured out. I had some of the motor mounts replaced as well. Must be a bad design from GMC.

Yea after looking into some other threads on here I seen the GM Service team is on here and is really taking care of the issue. It is really cool to see a giant corporation like that on here with us helping. Now all I got left is spark plugs and oil pan gasket which I'm kind of nervous about doing

I don't know about a poor design, I think they're briliantly engineered for what they do. Just consider it a wear item, something to be done as the miles rack up and the truck gets older. More often if you have a lead foot.

It is indeed a poor design and a well known issue with the 07-14's. It's one of the items that have an extremely high failure rate, the other being the dashes that crack and cost a fortune to fix, only to most likely crack again. The engine mounts are a "hydraulic" design which means they're filled with liquid. The liquid heats up and probably boils from being close to the exhaust manifolds and it makes the mounts fail. As far as GM being on here "helping" with anything, all I've ever seen them do is request a PM with info where they say they'll help but I've never seen a single instance of them doing anything except steer you to a dealer service department. There is a thread here on the engine mounts where members have figured out the Hummer mount works and it's a solid rubber design that doesn't fail. It's actually the #1 stickie under engine and drivetrain but about page 39 there are pictures of the mounts. Towards the back of the thread I believe is where somebody figured out the Hummer mount works; I believe it was a fleet mechanic who was tired of replacing mounts and watching them fail again. There are a lot of members on here who have replaced mounts more than once.

Ahh, I remember that post now and the H2 mounts. I thought the idea to fill them with fluid was pretty nifty. I reckon that they didn't intend for us to be drag racing them and doubling the horsepower! We started busting mounts on our Buicks as the power went up and the solution was to limit the motor's ability to rise up on the driver's side. For this we used a turnbuckle attached to the control arm and the alternator bracket. Power braking under boost was where we busted them most often, at the track before someone took a come-along at the drags to keep racing for the day.

Was there any additional vibration introduced into the cab by using the H2 mounts?

I haven't had an issue on my CC yet so I haven't used the Hummer mounts but others have said they couldn't tell the difference. The broken ones have happened on stock rigs driving normally or towing as well as higher HP/ faster driving. The NBS didn't have any issues and no vibration so there was no need for a redesign. Another case of "fixing" a nonexistent problem that backfired. If I do have a broken one on my 08 I'll be using the Hummer mount.

If you're dropping the oil pan to replace the gasket, you should replace the O-ring on the pickup line too.
