Be interesting to see what the Memorial Day sales blitz looks like on the incentive front..

Looking at Yukon Xl Denali 4wd Msrp 78,235 Msrp quote 69,235. I think it should be in the 66235 range??? It's been sitting for 93 days on the dealer lot.

Looking over the next three holidays to buy.. been waiting for 3 plus years to get this vehicle I can wait 3 months.

@JayceeP the "rebates" are why depreciation for the big 3 sucks. If you buy a 2017 the day it comes out you're going to pay sticker. If you buy a 2017 the day 2018s come out, you're going to get close to 10k off sticker without even haggling.

Flip that for a Toyota, the most you'll get off in the first 6 months is 750 if you're lucky. The most you will ever get is 1500 off.

That's just in incentives obviously. Dealers will make other deals but they're cutting into their profit. I'd like to know what the dealer I bought from made on my Tahoe. The dealers here couldn't touch it. I got mine for 3k below supplier price, and 1500 below employee price. The dealer here said he had no idea how they were able to price it so low and that's why they were trying to get that exact Tahoe rather than one similar, they wouldn't have been able to price it like that.

Yes, it's depressing how the value sinks like a rock. But the tax rate in Wa state is from 8.2 to 10.7 percent and that really sucks.

2016 XL Denali, 22" Wheels, Power Steps, HUD, ~80k MSRP. Had 13,000 miles. Paid 61.5k plus TTL in PA.

I was pretty happy to get 23% off MSRP for a vehicle in pristine condition and such low mileage.

I agree, any Chevy vehicle I have owned seems to tank big time in value the first year or two. After that they do seem to level off and hold their value fairly well.

Yeah that's what I mean- the discounting is substantial and I think it skews depreciation. I've concluded it might be best to buy something gently used ie 2016 with 15-20000miles or late in the model year and get better financing. Obviously logical but the savings potential are more apparent. I got 10% off on my 4Runner but it is a 2012 and I bought it March 2013. It was on the lot from at least end of 2012 but I think it hit the lot in the fall. It's manufacture date is a year earlier than when I purchased.

Yep. A year of usage knocks ~10% off the price for sure.
