yea theres a groove in the shaft that looks like it should have an oring to keep the oil in. it's either hardened up and stuck in the housing or disintegrated

I wouldn’t think a spinning shaft would use an o-ring for a seal but who knows. It seems that wouldn’t last long especially as fast as a turbo spins. It should be more like an axle shaft seal imo.

might not be it just looks like something sposed to be in there. either way..waiting to hear back to get some parts to put it back together

I guess you’ll find out when you rebuild it. How many miles were on that turbo anyway?

they make a 2k hp rated one, but im pretty sure it wont fit under the hood.

talked with someone that had one with a gmt900 truck and he said he had to cut the cowl and removing some of the hood bracing to fit, but wasnt real clear on which one he had and hi ram base, motor mounts, etc

going to pull the hood insulation pad off tonight and try to get a real good measurement of what can fit

I'm going to be jealous if you get one. I would like to go turbo just for that work of art under the hood lol.
