Not much done, got turbo to ic pipes on last night. Looked at oil return doesnt look like fun putting a hole in oil pan anywhere, I think I'm going to snake it down the side, takes it between ac compressor and exhaust manifold. I grabbed some heat sleeving http://designengineering.com/exhaust-sleeve-locking-ties-kit/ going to try with braided hose, may end up using hardline to do it though or an expensive flex hose (kevlar). If I can keep it atleast off the manifold I think itll be fine.
Was dark by then so I just putz around with the intake elbow, thought itd be awesome to use the airraid can to atleast to shield some heat for normal driving (remove filter for max air) so I cut out the box to accept 6" pipe nice n tight, looked good...went to see how it fit and the elbow doesnt even clear the fan shroud lol

it is the weekend, almost there.

yesterday- found a routing for the oil return i like, i need another 45* an hose fitting though (ordered will be here sunday), plumbed in the waste gate to turbo snout(had to drilled and tapped 1/8" npt) for push lock fittings, all pushlock on the w/g and bov. still need to drill/tap manifold for the bov reference. was making sure oil pan gasket showed up before i started taking off oil pan, thought i ordered it a while ago but i guess i didnt so i ordered earlier this week. also couldnt figure out a good place to put the trucool 40k cooler back in that would get a lot of air flow so i ordered: https://derale.com/product-footer/f...unt2013-10-28-09-53-271226240719/13740-detail should fit on the driverside on the frame rail right next to the transmission, ordered cooler block, -6an fittings and hose- should all be here sunday

today - oil pan gasket showed up, pulled pan off - it sucked about as much as i figured it was going to. where i wanted to place the oil return, on our trucks, the oil pickup tube runs down that side of the pan not the middle like i assumed. i dropped the return down as low as i could on the pan and am going to try a threaded fitting in the pan (1/2 npt), cleaned pan used some gm thread sealer (same used for oil pressure gauge). it was real close to the bottom of the pan, like cutting threads into floor of the pan :lol: but it tightened up good, letting the sealant sit for a day or two before i put oil in it anyway. if it leaks i'll get it welded in the same spot.

tomorrow - im going to remove the stock transmission cooler lines, do a little trimming to get the intake elbow to fit (part of the problem is upper cooler line), go back over everything and make sure all the bolts/vbands are tight, make sure all the wiring is tyrap'd out of the way, drill/tap intake manifold for bov right behind the throttle body(will remove throttle body to get shavings out), need to see how all the coolant and ac hoses lay may need to wrap them to keep heat away.

ummm sure im forgetting a few things, but yea no reason it shouldnt be started this weekend. i may grab some injectors before i start doing any real tuning though

exhaust....need to finish out exhaust, thinking about putting a cut out in it though or atleast welding in the ypipe for one later

I’m thinking of doing dual electric cutouts on the Hoe. Had one on my 90 GMC with a built 350, and sounded mean when open! I definitely suggest it

This is the return oil line from the turbo? I thought it was a gravity drain, which means you should have it drain into "open air" inside the pan.

I wouldn't doubt your knowledge with this stuff, so I'm sure I'm just misunderstanding something.
