Rear passenger axle fitment

Hi I finally got the rear end in today. But I ran into a problem. The drive shaft bolt clamps aren't lining up with the rear end. The bolts aren't lining up

Those are the ones I'm talking about and even if I bolt it up there's still play in the drive shaft because the caps for the joints are too small or something. I would've just ordered a direct replacement for my truck but they were calling $800 for a rear end

So if I understand correctly, as you tighten down the straps, there's still too much play to hold the u-joint? Are the u-joints new?

What vehicle did the rear axle come out of?

I would think that new straps will solve this.

Sounds like he needs the conversion u-joint

It's made different. I have a new ujoint just installed and wasted money. The caps fit great on the driveshaft part but the caps are too small for the yoke end

Sounds like he needs the conversion u-joint

I see the newer years 2010+ use the joints where the clips go in the outside and mine are made to go on the inside.
