I took mine in for an oil change at the dealer Saturday. They brought it up, I said I didn't want to have it done. They told me it was mandatory, and they couldn't not do it. I wasn't thrilled. I've only used it a couple times, but I like all my stuff functional. Maybe I'll feel better with $100 of beer money in my hand.

Yeah, I'm not getting it taken out of mine. I use that feature a lot in the winter, since I park outside (mom's 2-car garage isn't wide enough to fit 2 GMT900's). Never has given any trouble and it shows no sign of damage so far.

Do you get a check on the spot? Or do they send you one in the mail?

They aren't forced to remove it. Someone can't take something out of your car if you don't want them to. That's called theft.

They mail the check.

I'm pretty sure if GM gets a vehicle in their service department that is subject to this recall, they would be forced to perform it. The whole point of the recall is because it started fires. Legally, I'm sure they have to, to cover their asses.

I have remote start, which I use way more than the heated wipers, but I'm not happy either.

So in January of 2009 I took mine in for a new:

Heated Washer Module $422.93
Block $303.00
BCM warranty
Labor $222.5
discount -94.84
Tax $43.53
Total $897.12

The dealer told me at the time (b/c I was PISSED) that if there was a recall, I could get my money back??

So can I get the $897 + $100??? If so=JACKPOT!!

I hope so, i still have not recieved my letter??

Any ideas???
