Do you mean the fuse for the steering wheel lights is the same as the back up lights? Probably not. I'm old ... and not too bright.

Assume you have to dismantle your steering wheel, right?
It can be done without taking the whole wheel off. It’s just easier to push them out from the back. And I was already swapping the wheel so I had it out already.

It wouldn't bother me so much if not for the fact that I gave away a better vehicle with more mileage but zero problems.
Age does not always equal wisdom. ;)

Those lines are just JUNK! I changed all the hoses and fittings on my '97 and never dealt with it again. No more goofy leaky connections held on with a paper clip or thin wall aluminum. End of problem. Of course that was when I had all the tools and a place (and time) to do it properly.

EDIT: Sorry, I just realized I kind of hijacked your build thread. My apologies!

I don’t think I’ve ever had a completely problem free vehicle haha. If time was more ready, I would have done the trans lines myself...... but work..... lol

When you buy a new vehicle and run it yourself any problems that come up are usually easy to deal with because you KNOW it. You know how you run it, how you treat it etc. This is the first "used" vehicle I've ever had but I thought, "Hey!" it's my Father's! And it wasn't abused and he is pretty darn mechanical. Right? Wrong.
He WAS mechanical when he was younger. But his ownership was all when he was old. Oops.

Now I get to deal with it and "I" am no longer young either. My patience and tools have both been stolen.
So it's all just annoying. R E A L L Y annoying! lol

Yes ... work will get in the way. Particularly when you need your vehicle to DO your work. It's what keeps garages going. You NEED it running ... yesterday! Makes it hard to DIY.
I'm retired but my desire to pull wrenches is long gone. Now it's just a PITA

Yeah I hear you! In the summer I detail professionally so getting work done on it is extremely hard! Cuz then I can’t work. Which is what makes winter easier cuz it sits in the parking lot all day at the ski area while I teach snowboarding. So I try to get the big stuff I can’t do myself while snow is here.
