PROJECT: THIRD TAIL LIGHT: ROUND 2.....
So two summers ago I swapped for an esky rear hatch and a third tail light. Love the mod! Well the base that’s hold my third tail light has always had a hairline crack in it since it came back from the body shop that painted it.... I sealed it up and called it good. Well over the last few weeks, that small crack turned into a late crack and then two broken pieces on my base. So I ordered a replacement off eBay and this time around I painted the sucker. It’s not flawless, but it looks a hell of a lot better than the broken one. It came in white diamond tricoat so I had sand it all down to primer. Used my porter cable for that and that was an interesting learning process.... lol used the garage hear at my best friends parents house while I’m staying for a few days to get the swap done. It’s like an oven in her because of the bigass freezer, I figured that would be perfect for getting the adhesive to set under the base. Made the swap and let it sit over night. Pulled all the masking tape off, cleaned up extra adhesive and screwed my brake light back in this morning.
