So a few things in life have changed over these last few weeks. My mom had a very close friend that her and my aunt have known since they first moved to California in the 1980s. Deb was always around for me growing up. She passed about a month and a half ago. My mom has been helping Deb’s daughter go throw and clean out her stuff and whatnot. Mom said she was taking a couple of plastic outdoor storage boxes to bring up to her house but they’re Kyle to fit in her jeep. On top of that my sister and her husband and the kids are moving to Tennessee in the next two months. They’re packing up their house and downsizing considerably. My mom offered tot ale some patio furniture off their hands. So I asked the family I’m living with if I could borrow the flatbed trailer to help mom and she said of course. Picked it up last night and drove off the mountain first thing this morning, as my sister had messaged and said that my nieces wanted to get baptized, and that they wanted to do it at their home church here in SoCal before the move happened. It was happening today so I figured I’ll kill two birds with one stone and get the furniture and storage box in one shot. It worked perfectly....
Chase’s towing service in full effect today... lol

You had me for a second there when I read "... and drove off the mountain..." Whew! :D

Nah not that drastic of life changes!! Haha
A church that does not follow after God often has disastrous consequences in the lives of those who attend it.
Unfortunately their pastor has gotten into the enneagram and for the past three years it’s all his sermons have been about. He doesn’t teach anything else and it has entirely consumed their life. Like it’s all they talk about all the time. While I understand that God uses many tools to teach us lessons and to guide us through life, in my opinion the enneagram is not biblical and to base an entire church foundation on it is just wrong in my opinion. That and his sermon yesterday was just so off base.... I couldn’t handle it. Unfortunately my mom feels the exact same way. But the other part that I really dislike is that because sandals has grown to such a huge church “branding” if you will, the majority of sandals locations are satellite churches. So you go into a service and they each have their own worship team, but once the worship part is done they feed in the head pastor via live stream on a big screen and you watch his sermon that way. And I really don’t like that. I never have and now it’s just how it is with their church. But after January I won’t ever have to go to sandals church after my sister moves.... lol. So I’m not really concerned about having to go.

Never even heard of it! Just looked it up and it is secular humanism and goes against God's Word. Follow your (biblical) instincts, we've gotten up and walked out of churches before that we were visiting. There's a verse about self discovery, Proverbs 18:2, "A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself."

Satellite churches are not biblical either, each local assembly is to be autonomous. The "Moses model" as Calvary Chapel over here uses is not biblical either. These rock-n-roll churches are popular because they itch the ears of the lost folks who attend them (2 Timothy 3:5). Start preaching on sin and repentance and the place will clear out fast!

What’s funny is that I grew up in Calvary chapel here in SoCal. In moreno valley down below where I was born and went to church til I was twelve, or Calvary chapel was very closely involved in Chuck Smith’s original Calvary chapel in Costa Mesa as our pastor and several of the church elders knew Chuck Smith personally and had long time friendships with him. And we actually went to Costa Mesa Calvary often for about 3 or so years because the guy my mom was dating a couple years after she and my dad divorced went to Chuck Smith’s church. So we were pretty involved back then. It was different though back then. Very biblically based and always on the right track. I have no idea what it’s like now though. About 2016 I left Big Bear Calvary Chapel as I didn’t agree with the direction it was going, or the overall mindset of the church towards single adults. I tried two different churches based on recommendations for where some close family friends were going, and really didn’t like either of those two. But last summer when the other church I was going to refused to open back up to in person churches, and the pastor basically chastised anyone that chose to go to another church for in person services, I said NOPE! Lol. Ended up at a church called Community Church Big Bear, where one of my absolute FAVORITE clients is on staff, and she welcomed me with open arms and plugged me right in. And I absolutely love this church. So I’ve found a new church home thankfully with a pastor that teaches incredibly well researched biblically based sermons and is always on point.

So after a month and a half wait from automotive touch up, couple fresh cans of paint finally showed up before this last weekend. Took the afternoon off Monday to finish prep and repainting my front grill. Truck sat for Monday night and all of Tuesday while paint set. Took advantage of the time at home to put some fresh one year ceramic on my paint and windows. hood, new windshield, headlights, front bumper cover, and the new wheels all done with CG carbon force, three year coating so cleaned those down and let them be. Truck is looking decent. Better with a freshly painted grille surround. Lol. Still saving to have the whole thing repainted but for now it’s where it’s at.

I’m going to either repaint my grill or buy another new aftermarket one and paint it. Did you sand yours all the way down again? Mine has chips in it and I’m wondering if I should just sand them out and repaint it.

Apparently my prep last time around was less then stellar, and paint and primer started flaking off in huge chunks all across the surround. I figured it was only a matter of time before it all started coming off, so I sanded it all the way down to chrome, and in the process of getting it sanded, I actually made the chrome look like non coated metal. Lol. But I used adhesion promoter this time around so hopefully it’ll last.

Did you sand it all by hand? I was thinking that’s the only way, I think a da sander won’t work. Looks good Chase.

Yup all by hand... it was a pain in the ass... I tried doing a couple spots with my little porter cable DA, with a sanding pad, but there just isn’t enough surface area for the machine to stay stable and get a good sanding. The angles and corners are just too weird.
