Nice work. I forget, did you get that bumper cover at the wrecking yard or is it new?
Pulled it from a 2004 Denali in silver birch metallic just like mine out of a LKQ pick and pull. The paint was in pretty good shape when I pulled it but decided I wanted fresh paint on it.

Nice. I remember looking at prices on a new one and they were outrageous. I might try LKQ but up here they don’t let customers in the yard. I’ll have to try the online version.
Edit: that didn’t work. They show nothing used, only new “Silverado style” which are chrome bumpers. I remember why I quit looking. This ain’t Cali, all the yards here are picked immediately because totaled GM SUV’s are in short supply.

Bummer that the LKQ yards are up there don’t let you in the yards... I got my cover for pretty cheap. Plus LKQ owns a crap ton of yards all over socal. So I have lots of opportunities.

Yep, you have millions and millions of people and thus vehicles down there and they are scrapped out more due to the high cost of registration and repair. Up here people are poorer and they drive them until they can’t fix them, and don’t care what they look like lol. And they don’t even bother registering them even though it only costs about $50 a year. I swear people here would buy your scrapped vehicles from those yards, throw a few used parts on them and drive em for another 15 years.

Yeah a lot of the trucks I see in the yards aren’t wrecked at all. They look like they just came off the road. So I always wonder why they are in the yard. But you’re right fixing them here is ridiculously expensive.

Hit the road with the Nali yesterday, and drove down to Pinon hills, which is out near wrightwood, about an hour and a half drive, to my close friends place for their Halloween party. They bought the house in 2019 so we’ve gotten together for two Halloween’s and a New Year’s Eve party so far. Really love these two friends, probably the two I’m closest with from my dance family. Low key line dancing party but so worth it. Nali ran perfectly and got me there and back with no issue. I was the mandalorian. Costume came with a helmet which I didn’t put on cuz I was too busy dancing and laughing Lol. But I never dress up so I figured why not this year.
Should have taken some pics this morning, but I’ve gotten my hands on a tire coating product that’s pretty mind blowing! It’s called dura coating. Not sure how long it’s been around but I found it a few weeks ago on Instagram of all places. It’s a heavy duty coating but it’s totally dry to the touch. Been on my tires for about three weeks now, two pretty decent rain storms, and three washes later it still looks good as it’s water proof. But what blows my mind about it is that it doesn’t attract dirt at all. Usually when you drive across dirt with typical water or silicone based tire dressing, it collects a nasty ring of dirt around the tire edges and just looks terrible. Not one bit of dirt rings with this dura coating after heading out a quarter of a mile each way of dirt road, out to my friends house last night, It’s pretty cool.

How do you think the dura-coating would work on a dirt/gravel driveway ? Everytime it rains I have to clean my tires again, seems like they are magnets for the dirt/grime.

It would probably work well. My gym sits off a short patch of dirt/gravel drive and I drive over it every day to hit the gym and they don’t pick up any dirt. Every few days I towel my tires down with a little bit of wheel cleaner, and they aren’t dirty. the towel doesn’t come up all greasy and grimy like it would with regular tire shine.

So a few things in life have changed over these last few weeks. My mom had a very close friend that her and my aunt have known since they first moved to California in the 1980s. Deb was always around for me growing up. She passed about a month and a half ago. My mom has been helping Deb’s daughter go throw and clean out her stuff and whatnot. Mom said she was taking a couple of plastic outdoor storage boxes to bring up to her house but they were to big to fit in her jeep. On top of that my sister and her husband and the kids are moving to Tennessee in the next two months. They’re packing up their house and downsizing considerably. My mom offered to take some patio furniture off their hands. So I asked the family I’m living with if I could borrow the flatbed trailer to help mom and she said of course. Picked it up last night and drove off the mountain first thing this morning, as my sister had messaged and said that my nieces wanted to get baptized, and that they wanted to do it at their home church here in SoCal before the move happened. It was happening today so I figured I’ll kill two birds with one stone and get the furniture and storage box in one shot. It worked perfectly....
Chase’s towing service in full effect today... lol

But it was worth it to see my nieces both get baptized today, as much as I really dislike my sisters church. Lol.
