So lighting is all sorts of haywire right now! :banghead: it’s all sorts of different now. Pulled my depos off last night. Got them opened up, rerouted the LED strips so they are all even and around the border of the housings like they originally were, closed em back up no problems! Get out to the truck this morning, reconnect wires, test, and No power to the LED strip inside drivers side headlight. Damnit.....
So check all my wires, all seem to be good. But to do it right I redo all the connections 3 times and still can’t get power to LED strip. Move to passenger, reconnect wires, they come on but not as brights as they used to be and covered in the housings by the base of the lens. So I couldn’t even really see the lights coming from the strips. Major fail......
So I’m standing there, new fogs in, wires connected properly and power to the halos in the fogs, but no headlights led strips, and truck still in pieces with time running low before I have to head out for appointments with clients to detail for. I was beyond frustrated..... by this point I’ve had my 24oz tumbler full of coffee and creamer, and drank through a refill and still super irritated as if I hadn’t had any coffee at all.... it was bad... lol.
Here's what the depo housings looked like when I pulled the, off my truck last night. Led strips were all sorts of crooked:

Bummer man, hope it all works out for you. I put connectors on my halos on my headlights so when I pull the headlights I can disconnect them. Sounds like you should do that.

So I had bought a new set of Spyder brand halo headlight housings at the same time I bought the depos, and decided to use the depos instead, the Spyder brand have been sitting in the box in my living room ever since. I was gonna sell them off and never did.
So the next step this morning turned out to be pulling these out, wiring the halo/3 small LED lights into my DRL as the other setup. And that took a few minutes to get all the wires in correctly. Mind you I’m terrible with wiring and hate it with a passion! Anyways, got them wired up, everything worked the way I wanted it to, and then all I had to do was move my LED bulbs from lows and highs over to the new housings and mount in the bracket. No problem right?! WRONG!!!!......
Low beams moved over just fine, they have a small base and the copper heat dissipating tassels, plenty of room. Well the Vouke G8s in my high beams have cooling fans and absolutely do not fit behind the headlight housing and the mounting bracket. Damnit....
so I put everything in and just put the regular halogen bulbs in the highs that came with the housings. I’m shopping around tonight to try and find LEDs with the right output and copper heat tassels. So far the look is different. It’s interesting.

And fog lights mounted, not sure whether I like these yet or not. The halo rings are pretty bitchin! They are super bright, but as @Rocket Man thought in his previous post, the Output of the main bulb, which is a cheesy projector, isn’t anything too great, even with LED bulbs I have. And the assembly itself is a bit smaller in diameter than the whole in the bumper for the stock foglight lens. So a little gap. I may just keep them simply because I like the halo rings in them. Lol

And housings mounted.

Replacing the fogs wasn’t too bad. Three nuts on long screws mounted on the inside of the front bumper that hold them on. One nut on each is a little awkward to get to, to get my hand in there to get it out, had to use a wrench cuz no room for a ratchet in there. Took a bit to make small turns to get the nut off the screw. But overall wasn’t too bad.

So far pros of the Spyder halo housings:
1. The projector lens in the low beam is decent. Better output I would say than the stock like projector in the depo lens. With my Vouke 5S LED bulbs in the low beams, I like it. They are really bright and the light pattern is good. Here’s what they look like on headlight settings+foglight halos:

Hard to tell the actual tones of lights color, and brightness cuz crappy phone pics. Lol. I do like this setup and it looks kinda different and kinda rad. Still gotta get a fanless led option for my highs.
2. The halos and three small LEDs are brighter than I thought they would be and I like them a lot. I like being back with halo rings, despite the fact that everyone has halo ring headlights....
Cons of the Spyder housings:
1. Quality of fitment is lacking so far. The whole assembly is slightly smaller than stock so it leaves odd gaps between the headlight and where it meets my grill, hood, and fenders.
2. it’s like the bracket on the back of the headlight housing is slightly beveled up and it’s odd. The whole housing, when in the bracket on the truck with the pins securing it in, sits angled slightly up and it’s driving me crazy!! I made sure that nothing was in the way of where the brackets on the housing meet the bracket on the truck, and that I didn’t just put them on crooked. So if anyone has a solution on that part, feel free to fire away! I’m open to a suggestion on fixing that, cuz if I can fix that, I’ll probably keep them on!
Other than that I like these what I’ve dubbed “Darth Vader headlights”
