I did the NNBS front upgrade and used R1 concepts premier slotted rotors with hawks lts pads all round, as well as goodridges ss lines. After a year and a half the rotors look new still. The pads dust like mad and lack some bite when cold, but stopping from 90 cannot be put into words for such a heavy vehicle. They've Saved my ass several times with animals on backroads and idiots on the highways.

I run the Wagner ThermoQuiet pads on my Suburban, they work well and don't give off any dust at all. I'll probably get around to doing the later model front conversion, I just haven't had much time to source the parts. Right now I have Bendix rotors from Rockauto, they have held up well. When doing a brake job on my cars I always clean all the preservative off the rotors, and prime and paint them with high temp engine paint. I don't mask anything off, the pads will clean what needs to come off. My current brakes have been on for over two years & still look good.
