Hey all, I am starting to second guess myself here. I replaced the spider injectors and don't recall there being and o-rings for the injectors going into the bores of the manifold. In fact I know my unit didn't have any so I just inserted them until they were tight in the bore. Am I ok here?

Thanks.

P.S. Still trying to hunt down my hunting idle issue. I thought that maybe vacuum is being pulled from inside the manifold.

You are fine the only o-ring seal was the one that goes over the spider body before the plenum goes back down. You did that one right? Was it lubed well? Can you grab the body and wiggle it easily or is it really stiff?

Wait for it....

Air squeeze out of where? There should not really be air squeezing out when your put the plenum on. When the plenum is on you should have resistance trying to move the spider body around indicating the spider body o-ring has a tight seal so air does not leak in bypassing the air filter and MAF sensor.

Also what do you mean by upper and lower done?

Just meant that there was a go0od seal on the spider unit's o-ring. I replaced the upper and lower manifolds with new ones. I've tried everything and replaced everything to fix this issue. I want to drive this truck off a cliff.

With a the add-ons you have now I just want to drive it.:burnout::driver:

So the problem that remains is an unstable idle. Can you get access to a scanner with access to enhanced gm perimeters?

Don't second guess yourself. My spider upgrade did not come with o-rings on the injectors either. In fact the oem's had nice butterfly wings that made them easy to remove. The new ones seem that once they are in, they are in.

When you re-installed your upper intake, did your reuse the original o-ring? Or did you use the intake spacer supplied o-ring? I ask because the instructions mention to use thier o-ring and that if you reused the original, you would have the symptoms that you are describing.

I removed the original o-ring and used the supplied spacer kit o-ring on my upper intake. I havn't had any problems so far.

Yup, used a new o-ring each time. Covered that sucker with MAP gas and no rise in idle.
I do have the EFI LIVE scanner that I bought from Black Bear. Awesome tool and it's worth it because you can get more tunes which are included in the cost of the unit. Let me know what parameters are needed to analyze the conditions of the engine when it goes into its hissy fit.
Again, thanks to all who help on this forum. It is so awesome that we all get to bounce ideas, solutions and experience off each other!!

BTW did you have to modify the location of your fuel lines when you put in the spacer???

Yup! I was able to mostly do everything myself, but the fuel lines messed me up. I need the apprentice to come help me. Ended up removing the bolt on the tranny holding the lines, and then pulling them up to the new place. The one plug wire is bent all to hell though. Looks like hell... I can get pics if you want.

Are you getting a whining noise comming from the fuel lines up front after the spacer install? Sometimes mine whines. I know it's the fuel lines because it whines two seconds after I shut off the truck. It's not the fuel pump because that's in the back, the noise is from the front... One day I'll get around to it.

EDIT: I"m not the expert, Sunlight will chime in here, but wouldn't you want to monitor the MAF, IAC, TPS and EGR functions looking for anomalies?
