Did you just come here to put down his project? Literally everything you've said has been negative. It's like you have something against him and you don't want him to succeed. And you're trying to one up him saying you got a better ride for a cheaper price. Congratulations, i got my ride for $1500 and it only needed a battery and windshield
I didnt "put anything down". I attempted to teach him that just because you clean the sludge out of an engine thats obviously been abused for many years (all that didnt happen overnight), does not mean the engine isnt going to suffer from the permanent damage that all that abuse caused. I guarantee the bearings are screwed up. At a minimum the rods and mains are scored and have trash imbedded in them or they could also be delaminating or missing layers of the material that forms the bearing shells. Why would I have something against him? This is the internet, I dont even know him. If I wanted to "one up" him dont you think I would have mentioned my purchase a little earlier in the game?
Congrats on your $1500 02 Tahoe, My 05 Yukon Denali is worth more and is newer(thats all of course in jest since i could care less about your vehicle and its cost) and you are a **** so shut your pie hole and learn how to mind your own business kid.

I promise to never attempt to help you or teach you anything in the future. Youre getting exactly what you asked for.

Damn, where do you guys find these cars for so cheap? In California where I live there is a thing called market value. It works off the concept of supply, and demand. If there is 10 tahoes, all between the price of X and Z, then fair value is somewhere around Y. If the tahoe that I bought didn't have the engine trouble, it would have been a good price for my area.
I didn't know we had a pissing contest going on for price paid. I once bought a near new .357 ruger GP100 for 250$. they were going for 900$. Am I accepted now because I got a good deal?

I was thinking the same thing, Rock Ola kinda seems like a giant *****. But hey, whatever gets you through the day.

Thanks everyone for all the tips, and ideas that helped me out on trying to bring this motor back to life, I do appreciate it!
Im sorry you are butthurt. Its obvious you did not get the jest of my posts concerning the sludge still being a problem from the damage done even though you cleaned the block out. What exactly would I have to gain by rubbing the cost of my Yukon in your face? Because that wasnt the point of my post. Ive been called much worse by better men than you so ill sleep alright tonight kid.
You can polish a turd or even clean all the sludge out of it...Its still a turd with permanent bearing damage.

Thank you for typing a long paragraph saying exactly what you've already said. And you've said the same things multiple times, you only need to say it once. We get it you think his engine will blow up, good for you. We are all here to help each other, even if you think something someone is doing isn't going to work. Also you should not be the one saying "mind your own business".:happy175: And there are plenty of people on here who have plenty of knowledge who would love to help me, and won't be negative. I've done just fine with out any help from you so :flipthebird:

We already plan on moving after we are both vested with our companies. I personally hate california, and everything that it stands for. Although we make great money here, at the end of the day we are taxes so heavily that it really doesn't matter.

looking at TX, one of the Carolinas, AL. and a few other states.

Would live in Bama in a heartbeat. My wife's family lives there and it's great. One of the only states left where there's some common sense.

My girl is from Bama (Hayden area) and is damned proud of it and all that UA stands for. It's tough for her being in LA around these very unsportsmanlike ******* LSU fans. Life would be so much cheaper and less stressful in AL. She wants to move to FL because she's practically solar-powered and needs her sun and beaches. I'm open for damned-near anywhere in the south BUT Louisiana.

I feel y'all would be some pretty f-in' cool neighbors.

I'd never live in FL again. Cesspool of human debris.

What part you lived in? I don't have any reason to agree or disagree with you. LA certainly has it's human cesspools (New Orleans...) I was born in Plant City but have spent most of my life in Louisiana. Her and I have visited places in the panhandle, and I think somewhere around there wouldn't be so bad, if affordable. She's mentioned some place(s) around the Jacksonville area for the good schools.

We used to play Plant City when I was in HS. I grew up in Bradenton... Manatee county.

Just read through the entire thread throughout the day. Big high five to you sir for not giving up and documenting it so well. These are awesome motors and this right here is proof. Can't wait to hear and see the finished product of all your hard work
