Can someone explain the difference between the column shift option 9J6 steering column and the way more expensive column shift option N33 steering column. Are they interchangeable?

Hardly a troll. According to car-parts.com they are both column shift. This is a honest question. I must be missing something if its such a easy answer. I have searched.

There is no difference as far as I can tell, they're both tilt options according to the GM parts catalog I found. I'll keep looking.

Every RPO GM ever used:

As far as I can tell, the 9J6 column is for special service vehicles, and N33 is for normal trucks.

Someone broke into my truck and broke the shifter off the column. I'm on a search for the shift mechanism on the steering column. There's at least one difference and that is the shift mechanism and that goes with the wires and harnesses. They're not interchangeable. I'm looking for n33 and all I can find is the 9j6 at my local junkyards.

You made me curious so checked my truck and it's a N33, doesn't look different but I could be mistaken
