hummm... ideas spanning from the unused shifter buttons that are resistive input. bet a couple extra buttons come in handy

haha I second that now I'd like to see pics of harness. are u guys using just a 07-14 shifter from nnbs I see the ones with and without buttons
Unfortunately, if you test the wires coming off the + - buttons with a multimeter you’ll see they have 2 different resistive values depending on if you press the + or - button. I didnt see a way to open up the shifter and remove the internal circuit either, so finding a use for the buttons is a challenge.

I should be able to use resistance differences as button inputs to my car computer ;) thinking dashcam, rear view switch

Finally did my nnbs shifter swap.20190203_134642.jpg
I think it looks pretty good.
You need to use your old rubber boot, nnbs is too stiff. Has hard plastic under the rubber outer edge. 2 different part #'s too. Make sure you swap the boots before assembly:rolleyes:.20190203_133242.jpg 20190203_133251.jpg
Also, you need a T30 torx.
I cut the plug from my old stock shifter and put it through the ends of the nnbs plug. 20190203_130714.jpg
I didn't want to cut them. Wires are so thin.20190203_134655.jpg
Success--tow/haul works.
