We did that mod to Casey's SSS years ago. I just pulled up a sample tune from a truck that had them from the factory and copied that table over. Its literally 5 min of work.

The only time I would adjust is if you have a lower temp thermostat

I'll have to check to see what temp I have my fans coming on now but I have a 160* T stat so I think I lowered mine more than normal. If I remember correctly My stage 1 comes on at 200* stage 2 at 219* and off at 199*. Also, fans shut off at 45mph I know that for a fact because I just changed it.

Huh the MAF CEL tells me whoever tuned it before put the truck into speed density mode by disabling the MAF and never deactivated the MAF CEL. Which I usually leave on when I'm temporarily in SD so I don't forget. Anyway, if the MAF already isn't reading then yeah turn that CEL off and be happy. I have mine in SD only and I'm about to remove the MAF completely by running a separate IAT sensor.

What Code is the MAF exactly? Is it P0103?

Iirc, it is a P103--but it's a soft code. It's always there but it doesn't give me a cel. I don't know what the original tuner did, but he was an *******. If I have this guy tune it out I just want to make sure I'm not gonna screw myself and make it run ******. So it'll be ok if I have him tune it out? It won't pass inspection otherwise.
I didn't get it back--yet.
Probably not and just making plans for when he does get it!

I'm 98.989% confident it will be fine to have the code shut off. Since it's already telling you the MAF isn't working. Ask Bauer what program they are using when you talk to them again.


So you don't have it back but does it run and drive? Do you have the proofs yet?

New motor as in new or as in neused.

What's the difference on a LQ4 and a LQ9.
New meaning used--but with some new parts I gave him. LQ9 has different pistons for a few more ponies. Came mostly in Escalades.
I thought he had already started it?
That's what he said. As long as I get it back before I die tho.
