¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They make helicoil kits but the one I saw was $150.00. Ouch. Time for a new bung. Make sure the threads get chased before installing the new sensor and load it with copper anti-seize. Just don’t get it on the sensor part.

This!Take it to the exhaust shop and get a new bung welded on. Better to fix it the right way now, than to fight it again. Also, while you’re there, have them swap the other o2 for a new one. Guessing these are both the same age and if I were a betting man, the lifespan is about the same. I couldn’t imagine it’d cost over $100 to get both bungs replaced. Make sure to use anti seize on the threads. You spent more time trying to guess the popping problem than you did on the o2. If this is the problem, it’ll be worth it to fix it right.
I called a few different ships and only one was really willing to give me a price of $100. Hopefully he'll stick to it. One place wanted almost $200 just to weld a new in. Others were $150 or more. This!

That's how they are around here.damn thieves. its a 20 minute job, if at 75 a hr 35-40 would be fair.
I actually had thought about something like this.Came across this possible solution from Summit. I see similar options on Amazon. Not recommending, just sharing.

Even the sketchy ones are greedy.Bungs are like $12 for a 2 pack on amazon. Find a sketchy exhaust shop and flash $40 cash lol
Agreed. Get it done--Hipefully--and over with.Do the new bung, permanent fix.
