How can i tell if i have theft detterant? Is there fuses for it or? Do you think putting wrong wattage leds could cause issues with that?Welcome to the forum and do you have a theft deterrent system?

It did that with 2 starters one of which was bench tested and same thing something is restricting it from crankingthat means nothing, a click and no start means bad starter or low voltage, they can be bad out of the box
bench test to verify.
Everything worked fine it was just running before the bulbs were put in so i doubt the starter just took a crap after working just fine after a bulb was replacedIt did that with 2 starters one of which was bench tested and same thing something is restricting it from cranking
no reason a bulb is going to cause the starter to not work, but you can do a voltage drop test, connect a meter to the starter positive wire (at the starter) then put the other end of the meter at the battery negative, try to start and see what the voltage reads, if it drops to 10.5v or less bad cable or low voltage if it reads 10.5 or above bad starter.Everything worked fine it was just running before the bulbs were put in so i doubt the starter just took a crap after working just fine after a bulb was replaced
Ok i will try both of those. Is.there anything other than bad cable or ground that would not allow starter to go? Theft detterant a possibility? What else could cause the system to drain so quickly?no reason a bulb is going to cause the starter to not work, but you can do a voltage drop test, connect a meter to the starter positive wire (at the starter) then put the other end of the meter at the battery negative, try to start and see what the voltage reads, if it drops to 10.5v or less bad cable or low voltage if it reads 10.5 or above bad starter.
you can also ohm test the ground from starter to battery it should basically read 0
no, the security function would not stop the starter from working, it would start and die from lack of fuel, it turns the fuel pump offOk i will try both of those.
