Does any one know if there is any other option than the plastic upper intake manifold on the 5.7 ?
Maybe an aluminum version ?

and if so where I can get one ?

You could do a carb. conversion but its really just a plastic cover over the fuel spider. Keeps that baby safe

I know it's just there to cover the fuel spider but because it's plastic, it keeps blowing the gasket. I was hoping I could just swap it out. As for going with a carb. I wouldn't want to go that direction. I want to keep the power train pretty much stock or close to it. Besides, that's what the race car is for..lol

O.K. this is what I can tell you. Because of my work I don't really have the time or energy to do as much as I would like to myself. So my mechanic up the street does most of the work on my cars. Last week I noticed when the truck first starts up, it puts a bit and stalls out, once it's warm it seems fine. So I took it up to my mech. and he said the computer shows a vacuum leak. He said these trucks are notorious for blowing the gasket because of the plastic cover.

He also mentioned it might be the temp sensor. Is that a possibility ?
What else can it be ? If you have any ideas, I would be grateful.
