Does the 4WD have a different oil pan than the 2WD? The one in his pic looks to be pretty high above the cross member and has notches in in as if to clear a front diff.

Sherrod, check all the VIN tags to see if they match. I know there's one on the dash and the driver's door (or doorjamb). I'm sure I've seen them elsewhere, like on the underside of the hood or something. Does your Tahoe have factory fender flares?

Take a look underneath and see if you have axles going to the front hubs. If not, your VIN decoder is wrong.
So the national VIN decoder is wrong? As my 2002 Chevy Tahoe is a 2wd as there are no axles, transfer case, or front Differential on it, yet the national VIN decoder online states that it is a 4wd. Why is this?

May I ask where the VIN on the dash would be besides underneath the window and the door,
