I wonder if you can punch it out and use the GM 8.1/496 rotating assembly in that block otherwise I prob wouldnt bother spending big money on stroker kit.
Just reuse the crank and rods...grab a nice set of higher compression pistons. Put some good springs on the heads and nice specd cam.

My fbody/ls friends have a guy that builds most of their engines but he loves big blocks might have some good info when you're ready

That’s a good idea! I read somewhere that the 8.1 block was based on the 454, but I may just be wishing that. Definitely will get in touch with you when I’m ready to get that done, thank you!

That would be awesome! I'm sure there's alot of us on here who are excited for you. I can't wait to see it done and running.

Man I’m so stoked! Glad you guys are excited too. Not many 454 Tahoes around. I’ll be sure to get videos of the first startup!

Btw, any benefits to converting over to a hydroboost brake system (the type that runs off of the power steering pump) instead of running off vacuum?

nah its easy, all factory parts.
the hydroboost unit (sounds like you have)
the hydraulic lines - it loops it in with the power steering rack (you prob also have theyre cheap if not)
the pedal out of a hydroboost truck you may have to get from a junkyard out of a 2500/3500 truck or van.

i had to change the master cylinder but i think thats because my truck was older (92 c1500) might not need to be swapped for a 99, and i needed adapter fittings to go from the master to my stock lines, you may not need

Think the pedal from the RV will work or no?
