If it was the signal to power the radio on..
The radio actually is connected to battery power, it always has power.
(From what I gather, you need a network signal to power these radio's on, won't turn on by itself connected to battery!)

So say the network signal was not turning it off, leaving it powered on, the radio should operate normally.
Radio quits playing music when you key out/open door, so you know it's getting the signal to shut off.

The spark you are getting is probably the radio drawing power for the illumination/usb where there maybe a short inside the radio...
or perhaps a chip got zapped which messed with the programming causing your lights to stay on.

Not sure what harness issue could make your radio try and eject a CD..

So that's why I think it's your radio.
Fingers crossed! I guess I’ll try a new radio.

my next question:
If I go aftermarket double din…. How do you hook the stock dvd player in the back to work with a new aftermarket radio?

Looks like I can’t get out the “bose trap” without some serious work. And rewiring.

I’d really like to just get my factory radio fixed or get a new one and get it programmed. But those are expensive

If and when you have United Radio do the repairs, make sure you get complete documentation of what problems they found and what was done to fix it.

None of this "Radio bad" and then "Radio fixed" crap.

Thankfully not draining my battery as well. I guess it’s just a cosmetic thing that bothers me.

Just sitting here with the car off all the way. Lights are still on. So weird that I’m able to make it turn on all the way (mostly) to where it says “no disc inserted” just by hitting the eject button. It’s like it is getting full power almost. But just the lights will stay on.

The lights are a draw, period. Small draw but a draw nonetheless. If the vehicle sits long enough or if the draw increase for any reason, enough power will be sapped away and the battery will not be strong enough to crank the engine.

Well I’d better get my radio fixed then. I’m in smaller town. We have a sound place but I don’t think they do oem radios. Be nice to to get it fixed locally.

Someone also mentioned a kill switch. But that seems kinda Janky for me. I’d rather just get my radio fixed and have everything stock the way I like it
