Does that mean it's a 2wd? How can you tell? It doesn't have a 1500 badge on it. I've wondered what the numbers meant for the NBS body style.

1. Suspension - 2500's sit higher due to the 3/4 ton suspension

2. Wheels - those wheels are 6 lug, if it were a 2500, they would be 8 lug.

Oh, and in picture nine you can see the four-wheel-drive selector switch.

Thx. I saw a Suburban yesterday and it had a badge on the ds door that said 1500. Never noticed that before.

1500, 2500, 3500, 150, 250, 350, ect have no meaning to the numbers. It's just to denote capacity. 1500/150 are called half tons, and can carry some weight and tow small trailers. Ay one time half tons could only carry a half ton but modern vehicles carry more. These are light duty SUV's and trucks. 2500/250 are heavy duty pickups and suv's,or light to medium duty trucks. Also called three quarter tons, these have beefier frames, stiffer suspension, and larger towing and hauling capacities. A heavy duty diesel is an option in many 3/4 ton trucks.
3500/350's are called one tons. These have a higher weight rating, and can tow much more. Frequently 3500's are dual rear wheel. 3500's are always pickups.

Four wheel drive is an option on every truck or suv, regardless of classification.

Installed my esky shifter. I was a little concerned it was going to look weird with the gray looking leather, but it looks nice with the denali dash bezel.

How can you tell the wheels are 6 lug? I looked closely and the pictures too blurry with the center caps installed for me to tell.

Just an FYI... That '01 a 1500, not a 2500. But I'd go with the '01 over the '04 as well
I was going to say something about this too but didn't want to be "that guy" haha.
Those wheels were never offered in an 8 lug
This... those are the 6 lug 16" gmc wheels offered from 99-02.

Also if it was a 2500 more than likely would have had "PYO" wheels on it.
