I tried loosening that nut with a wrench while holding the Allen but couldn't do it. Did you just mark the Allen somehow and use a socket on the nut? That thing is in a terrible place to get to.
It really is in an inconvenient spot. I took the cover off my ecu to get a little more clearance, but I just kept playing with the position and eventually I broke it loose with the wrench and Allen. I did mark it but between the darkness and dirt it got lost in translation.

There are write ups on multiple different gm forums and YouTube videos. A quick search will show you everything but you'll hear multiple different ideologies about which is the correct way. Some say have the wheels cranked, some say keep it simple and just tighten it.

You only need a 16mm wrench and a 3/16 Allen wrench (supposedly, I just dug through my drawer and found one that fits.)
What I did was loosen the nut on the box, 1/4 turns with the Allen wrench on the hex stud? while hand twisting the steering shaft to check play, and repeated until I got minimal play

Installed my Valentine 1. I may mod my review mirror to house it and make it more factory looking and or hidden.
