This is what I got @Tonyrodz

20170413_012124.jpg

Mount the camera and run the wire to the main harness. From there run the red and black to the reverse light. From there run the rest of the cable to the deck. Plug in the yellow rca to the AV/in ......and I guess the red wire coming off the rca splices into the reverse trigger wire on the back of the deck?

I know it's simple but I feel dumb, it's my first camera install and Mr ebay never sends instructions for anything lol.
Run the power line for the camera into the power of the reverse light, and ground the black wire from the camera to the body like I did

Then you have to get the Head unit to "see" when you switch into reverse, I tapped into the wire running up the a pillar to the reverse mirror that shuts off the auto dim function when reverse is engaged. There is another wire you can tap into at the BCM, but I couldn't find it well enough.

Exactly what he said @05Single .not hard at all. Hardest part is running the cables and hiding them. We have faith in you! :waytogo:

Chatted to my mechanic last night. Hit him up for some lift time next week to have a look at the front end. Researched some Moog and Energy Suspension parts to see how far we want to go up there. Thx guys info.

Two other issues looking for input.

1. Drivers side power mirror functions are intermittent, as in sometimes they work and sometimes they don't and slow when they do work. Passenger side responds, but seems sluggish. Wondering if the switch on the door panel might be going bad or a loose connection behind the sail panel? Other thoughts?

2. My CHMSL/3rd brake light is out. I replaced the OEM one with a Dorman one last year. Worked without any issues until recently. All tail light functions and cruise control are operational. I replaced the CHMSL 10amp fuse inside by the driver as it was blown.

The CHMSL light worked for maybe one or two brake pedal cycles and then blew the fuse again. Tried a 15amp fuse just to see and it blew. I checked the fuse box under the hood and everything appeared to be okay. Might need to have another look.

Thoughts on where to chase a possible short? The actual harness where it plugs into the CHMSL or elsewhere to help me start somewhere?

Thx guys.

Electricity isn't my forte' but I would reason that if too much power was being pushed out at the light, it would just blow the light. I would check any of the wire before the light to make sure that it hasn't grounded out on the body or something.

Other than that, take it off, and put a voltimeter back there on it and see what you're getting. Something in that circuit is bad.

**EDIT** put the voltimeter where the fuse goes too, and see if that can tell you anything.

Got an alignment today finally after replacing the pitman arm, idler arm, idler link arm, passenger side inner and outer tie rods, driver's side outer tie rod, and driver's side upper and lower ball joints.

She's driving like a new vehicle!!

Just take the light out and test the brakes again. If it doesn't blow the fuse the light is your issue. You can get one at a pick n pull really cheap.

Thx guys. Good points. Will check that harness where is goes into the headliner thru that grommet and see if maybe it has vibrated/pinched itself and grounded itself on the body or if the light is an issue.

Yeah electricity is not my strongest suit, hence my questions. lol but I am learning more and more from this site though.

On that note, I did order another Dorman replacement CHMSL and it would not light up at the time. I ended up sending it back before the 30 day window, but maybe the fuse/light combo I didn't have all working together at the same time.

Ok will give those few things a whirl and see how I go. :waytogo:

Does the fuse blow with the light unplugged? Thinking it may be the light itself. If the fuse doesn't blow until you plug the light in and hit the brakes a few times then that's the problem. Otherwise check where the wiring moves or is next to something that moves, like where it goes into the hatch from the vehicle and the hatch opening and closing can cause it to break down. A visual inspection of the wiring will yield the best results.
