The wrap looks great. The only thing you can do with a scratch like that is replace the glass.

Thanks and thanks, Rocket Man. That was my fear about the glass. Oh well, that's life. I've got the exterior looking great, so that piece of glass really sticks out now. I guess I will put that on the short list.

could you polish the scratch on glass to @ least reduce the visibility of it?

You know what they say about a polished turd. Still a turd. That ones too deep. You would spend hours polishing it and it would still be bad. I work with glass and I've polished my share of scratches. I wouldn't waste my time on that one.

Today I finished vinyl-wrapping my Yukon. The paint has a lot of scratches and issues and looked good from 5 feet, but not so much close up. I didn't want to pay big money for a good paint job, so opted to vinyl-wrap instead (I've done a few of my vehicles in the past). Anyhow, Avery makes a gloss dark blue metallic that was very close to the original paint color.

Over the weekend I picked up some rear appliques and roof racks from a 2004 Escalade, so I vinyl-wrapped the chrome roof rack in gloss black and bolted it on. The Escalade parts give the Yukon a nice look, I think. I am on the fence whether to color-match the appliques. My wife thinks it looks like an extension of the windows in gloss black, which does have a nice effect.

PS - Does anyone know what to do with a scratch on the glass? My left rear quarter glass has a nasty scratch from municipality PO (seen in the photo).

Thanks, Adam.
Nice work and looks great . Sounds weird but you can polish that grey window trim on all 3 rear windows and make them look black. It will blend in the appliques better to make it look more like an extension of the windows

For the scratch it will need to be replaced, I bet it's not as expensive as you might think. Maybe even find a used glass for replacement.

Or vinyl wrap the rear glass too. Either solid color or perforated to hide the scratch.

Surprised you didnt wrap the bumpers too.

Gonna add to your build thread now ?

yeah, great job on the wrapping. MY buddy just did some on his mustang and it wasnt easy for a first timer. i actually like the appliques black. Makes it look like the glass wraps around. I used to work for so many auto glass companies. They all fight for business, most even give you cash back on insurance jobs. Either way i dont think it will be that bad to replace

I saw a post recently (yours? ) about renewing that trim and it came out great. I'm on the fence about vinyl wrapping those rear quarter windows... I keep forgetting to look over my shoulder and see if it would be an obstruction issue. The left passenger window is also scratched, unfortunately. I can only imagine the story those scratches tell.

Build thread... Yeah, I've been lazy. But I do need to do it!
