I would have to say a good 1,000 miles or so cause that is my daily. But with all the closures here in El Paso not much driving has occurred since then. We did go up to Ruidoso NM. that same day I installed the can for the weekend.

I'm scared to see how little yours has compared to mine.

IDK, when I checked the dipstick it was wet. The stick doesn't even sit low to the bottom of the can so I'm a little curious myself.

I have come to realize the dipstick is completely usless. Since the oil often stays on the steel mesh and the stick is through the mesh when you pull it out it gets covered in oil. I suppose it would work well if there was no mesh but then you likely wouldn't catch much oil.

Let me ask you this, did you add mesh to bottom of the lid or just in the cup. A friend of mine added it to the bottom of the lid not in the cup.

Uhh I just left the provided mesh in the cup. I might add some finer steel wool on top of it, but first I'm adding an inline clear fuel filter to the outline. That way I can see how much oil is getting by and go from there. I am happy to note it appears to be oil and only oil, no fuel or even water from what I can tell.

By adding that filter, wouldn't you have to change it every so often cause it'll clog up.
