What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Honestly, it was a little harder than I anticipated getting the new one snapped in completely. I was able to remove the old one pretty easily, getting a small screwdriver tucked in right beside each tab, then pulling hard with my hands. I found when installing the new one, try to make the tabs come in from above the slot angling down, then most did click in place. The 3rd one from the ends right where the bumper bends in towards the license plate lights were the worse. One I ended up covering with a microfiber towel and hitting with a rubber mallet.

And here I thought you were just covering up your tag!! Lol

I always mark the tab locations on the top of whatever piece I’m installing with a grease pencil so I know where they are. That way you know that’s the place to push on or if it doesn’t want to go on, the place to slide something underneath to help it line up. It’s just handy to know the exact location of each tab so you’re not guessing.

I know I’m doing incandescent because on an 02 the circuits are a mess of polarities, making it confusing as f to try to solder in led bulbs. That’s why nobody does the 99-02’s. Otherwise I would have done blue leds long ago. I tried converting some extra hvac controls I had laying around and gave up, and I’m pretty good at that stuff. In 03 they changed and it’s easy to figure out.

Meh. I looked into it and to me it’s not worth it. I already ruined a couple spare assemblies trying to install leds. I have other things I’d rather do. I don’t drive enough at night to be worth it. I just want all the lights working with the least amount of work. Lazy ass mofo haha.

The weather finally cooperated so I took advantage and washed it along with my Silverado today. How’s it look @Sam Harris ? And I was able to drive the Silvy to do my grocery shopping today too. It’s been raining the previous two Sundays so it sat.
