If a bearing spins, it just rotates and blocks the oil passage resulting in loss of pressure i believe. Somebody that has encountered one will hopefully chime in. @Tonyrodz didnt your hoe have a spun cam bearing?
Yup, that's how my 1st 6.0 died. It sounded more like it had a lifter tick, no low knocks or anything else telling. It spun a cam bearing. We didn't know what it was until it was taken apart. I really hope that isn't your iissue.

Got the Tahoe sprayed for the rust proofing yesterday just in time for the first salting of the roads in NY this morning. Also was very close to smashing the guard rails on a over pass at 230 am on the way to work this morning before the salting. That damn black ice snuck up while half asleep!

I am not sure if they did the main roads / thruways later in the am, but the campus I work at had the salters all over already. Probably a pre caution as a lot of people on this campus don’t know how to drive on a dry summer day hah!
It’s still 45-50 in the mornings here in Oregon. We did have a few mornings of 40 a couple weeks ago. But they never salt here regardless. And we have terrible winter drivers that get stuck in an inch of snow lol.

Well shiiiiit. I DO have a lifter tick. But I've had a lifter tick for YEARS. Probably since around 2007 or 2008. But it only ticks for a minute or two right at startup. Once the engine warms up a bit, it stops ticking. I've talked to several mechanics about it over the years and they all told me the same thing. They said unless it ever gets worse, then don't even worry about it. So I haven't worried about it.
BUT: After replacing the oil pump, the lifter tick was VERY loud on the initial startup. Sounded almost like a slight knock it was so loud. It did that for about a minute to a minute and a half, then stopped. Now I don't even hear any ticking at at all.
