What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Pretty much looks just like it did when I bought it Tony. But I'll get some pics.

Received the K5L fans in a day and a half. Cleaned them up, installed, tested with Tech 2. Will drive it later and keep an eye on voltage. Haven’t put the Mechman in.

There’s a slight difference in the housings, the K5L have a couple spots for something to bolt into it on the right side or to bolt to the radiator. Little bit of contact with the throttle body coolant hose. I’ll keep an eye on it.

Well, the old Yukon delivered several kicks to my ball bag today.
I had Denali headlights/parking lights/grill all set to go on today.
First, I broke the retaining tab off one of the parking lights. First kick to the balls.
I tried to use some plastic welding epoxy to fix it with no luck. 2nd kick.
I zip-tied it into place as a temporary victory until I could get another. Swing and a miss.
So I go to put the grille on and the damned thing isn't lining up.

- the Denali grille bottom mounting points are about 1 1/2" wider apart.

That was a direct shot. I crawled back inside and got out a bag of ice.

I got the rear fender flares and wheel skins pulled today and got the body all washed out in preparation for the rocker panels and lower quarter panels to be replaced.

Can you shed some light on this K5L fan mod??

It’s an RPO code for a heavy duty cooling package. I don’t know if it was on our platform but is for the GMT-900. One component is 700 watt fans versus the standard 500. The first design has 9 & 7 blade fans with a second design having two rimless 5 blades. (The standard are 5 & 7). The higher wattage moves more air. I also don’t know what other components of the RPO code entail. Seems the 34” radiator is mostly the same.

does anybody know how many more cfm's the HD cooling fans pull over the stock, and is it worth upgrading to them? I tow about 6500 lbs up mountain grades with lots of slowing for turns and want to keep it cool. I'm already contemplating a mishimoto rad, just wondering if theses are worth the...
