My Ivory dealer was backlogged so I had to go with the ‘hammered’ faux finish.

Today I tried dropping the transmission pan. I didn't get past the removal of the shift linkage bracket. I was able to get a torx 40 into the bolts nice and snug but couldn't get any room to turn the ratchet. I found a "how to" to disconnect the front drive shaft to get some more room. Is there anything I need to by disconnecting and reconnecting other then lining everything back up correctly?
I just grab some channel locks and use them to bend the entire mount to the side so the pan will drop. Done it 4 or 5 times now and works like a charm every time.

Fixed the brake light switch. This one does not have a spring, the contacts act like a spring, and it had become weak. Bent a little bit and checked that I had one N/O contact and two N/C contacts. Cleaned up with a dremel with a wire wheel (overkill, use sandpaper)

When I went to install it again, one of the wires were broken in the contact, tried to soder it, no luck so ordered a new one (ACDelco PT2362)0E87E691-56B5-4E9C-8D62-640EA95BE340.jpegE608F719-CF32-49A4-929B-141F1A33AC73.jpeg

I think just about anyone that understands how a simple switch works always tries to "fix" these things yet there's always something that makes them end up replacing it. You gave it the ol' college try.

100%… I looked at mine, saw the corrosion, and thought: “ah heck, I can fix this for free!”… probably 90 minutes later, while all was cleaned up, properly aligned, and should have been back to “new”, I gave up, and ordered the replacement, while muttering old man phrases about quality, and how I needed to poop.

I been sitting on a new acd brake switch well over a year now!! Bough it a while back when I replaced my brake booster, just forgot to install it. Somewhere in my parts pile, next to the tie rods I grabbed a month ago:anitoof:

When you finally change it, you'll be like "Really? I sat on this for so long when I could've just been done with it in three minutes." :doh2:

theres not enough time to do right the first time, but always plenty of time to fix it the second time or something like that
