Update: new jounce bumpers have transformed the truck. No longer is it bouncing all over the place on rebound. Highways don't feel like a boat ride either. Hard to believe. I'm still sorting some steering issues but this made the ride quality so much better. Might have to do the rears but I don't think they'd have as big an impact.

Yesterday I took off the valve covers looking for sludge. Didn't find any. Put new gaskets on it. Wanted to put the grommets on the bolts but couldn't figure it out and was getting impatient.

Also changed the oil and it came out with no sludge, so my coolant consumption or leak is elsewhere.

Then took it to get a brake fluid flush since I changed out all brakes a month ago. Just didn't want to mess with it and a local shop did it pretty cheaply.
@Tonyrodz are you paying attention? Lol. Get er done!

Hoe still not done yet. 6.0 oil pan and timing cover was cracked, was able to use the 4.8 stuff, no biggie. Good news is the 6.0 is clean inside, no sludge or any other bad stuff. Broken exhaust manifold bolts are all drilled out and ready for the headers. The 4.8 had a lot of sludge in the pan, which was a shock to me. Upper end of the motor is clean. Oh well. Shooting for Friday!
