Why not sand, buff and reclear the old lights?
So how hard would that be? I've never done much paint work or anything. But if be willing to try. Also someone put a set of depos on here. Is the light from the projectors that much better than a stock style light with a hid?

Also what are the best and brightest LED bulbs out there for the low beam especially? Been looking around but there are so many cheap ones out there.

Some guys dry sand while others wet sand. All you want to do us just get all of the clear coat off, you don't need to be aggressive. Once you've sanded, buff them with 3M plastic polish, then find a good uv protective clear coat and spray them. Easy.

2500 or 3000 grit. you dont want any thing to aggressive, even 2500 is going to remove the clear pretty fast. with a light pressure, just let the paper slide over the paint.

you dont want to sand it like its wood, and stay off the edges or you can cut through the paint, be very light when sanding on those areas.

id not remove all the clear coat thats still stuck, the sanding is only for a mechanical bite for the clear coat to stick on there. any of the light scuffing you see the new clear coat will cover up like it was never there.

id search youtube for some how to vids, what i did when i first took on a larger paint job, aka both bumpers off my regal. theres all sorts of tricks you can do along the way to make life easier on your self as far as taping things off and also gain the confidence to just dive in. cause its really easy work, just takes some time.

He wants to do his headlights. I agree, not too abrasive.

good lord got mixed up with another thread lol yeah soame rules apply there, only you can work your way from 800 to 1000 and finer to really cut off the crap plastic. then clear coat em.

did my regals like 2 times, then when they hazed over the last time i went and bought new headlights. i fought the haze and the haze won lol

i never did clear them. but they looked damn good when i was done. sanding and then compound with a dual action buffer.

iirc this was the second time cutting and buffing them. left one is done, right one is not.
