Or just tear right through the soft part of the bushing.
Yeah, since they’re up against rubber that’s what would happen. That rubber isn’t going to stop that clamp which is attached to a couple thousand pounds of vehicle. Even if that clamp was riding against metal, it wouldn’t have a chance.

My sway bar doesn’t move side to side.i can tell by the dirt lines where they go through the bushings. That looks like something else to squeak to me.

I was trying to grasp the concept as well. Our trucks have Panhard bars that control lateral movement. I don't see what little it may slide having any discernible affect on the sway bar's effectiveness.

Maybe it's more for trucks that have the stock end links since those have ball pivot ends that can allow lateral movement.
