also doing the trunnion upgrade kit on the rockers, got a nice flow going in the end.
I have a press so it made it extra handy.

clips on the ends almost seem redundant due to the design change of the captured bearings.
Meh, hopefully i did i right... :D

got the rockers installed, primed the engine with oil
Was dumb luck that i had the clear tube, but that made it very handy...

got a nice even flow from each rocker, did most of the priming @ 50 psi air, but needed to raise to 110psi to get all of the lifters flowing oil.

getting closer! :ehcapt:

It's always taken me a good while to get oil flowing from all rockers. I don't know if turning the crank while pushing the oil in helps or hinders how quickly it gets there, but I'd rather turn it a lot in both directions to ensure EVERYTHING is oiled. With my setup, 90psi inlet pressure was good for about 45psi in the engine.

I did some rotating while priming.
Seemed to help some.
when cranking down the rockers at tdc, it felt like my lifters were a little locked as well.

First time i have ever presoaked lifters, last time I dunked them in oil real quick, and then dropped them in...
when empty it's nice to feel the lifters compress, this time around i just saw the valves compress...

I'll check them with a compression gauge later to be 100% sure... :D

After priming the oil and fuel systems and you turn the key for that first start and it fires up immediately and quietly like it was never torn apart:

got the intake on!

it was full of oil...
lots of oil.

made a mess when i picked it up.
Let it drain for a bit, then took it outside to the back corner of the yard with a can of gas.
Rinsed that baby out the best i could...
stunk up the garage, i think i went cross-eyed for a bit... :favorites25:

once oil finally stopped leaking out i cleaned it up pretty good, removed the map sensor (Doh!) and cleaned it...

Nearly ready to run this pig!

I was surprised at how much oil was in the intake on my ‘07 when I took it off the first time. Made a mess on my garage floor.

If you think you might have gotten straight gas on the MAP sensor, might want to think about getting a new one as they can be sensitive to some solvents. Might be overly cautious, but would hate to have it send you down a rabbit trail later if it’s compromised.
