the craftsmans line went to crap long before the name was sold off. big difference between vintage craftsman and the later stuff. there's a market for the old stuff if you have it. the newer stuff wasn't made as well.) it's noticeable side by side.

the new stuff as Lowes to me falls between the 2, bit as good as the og pre 90s ish tools better than the end of the line as sears.

I have a set of their 3/8 impact sockets, feel better than Harbor freight, which isn't that bad these days. I've had them on a 1/2in impact going to town and no worse for wear. like everything thou it's a hogpoge of rebranded stuff. there's no one factory making any brand of tool anymore, it's just what the sales rep has decided for you is good for their brand/profit. so if you see something that is good, try it. if you see something else with the name on it that seems like cheap junk. it probably is.


I feel like gear wrench branded tools are a very good middle of the road cost vs quality.

ordered a driveshaft. supposedly new old stock oem gm hybrid 4x4 part number. we shall see what shows up haha.
