IMO i would go with the 2 12" settup that i have in my sig.not competition status but it makes noise from a large distance even with the windows closed (which i dont recomend for hearing) but for not alot of money the kicker L7 with that amp (in my sig) hits hard. i dont know what the decibles r or anything like that but again it hits hard for 500+/- a sub

Hope you didn't pay 500 a sub for L7's, theres plenty out there way better for cheaper. And OP, do sub(s) facing up, port firing to the rear.

OP = Original poster. He was asking about box positions. Sub up, port back is most of the time the loudest in SUV's

Fyi talked to 2 of my dudes today and both said they have personally been part of HCCA builds where the sub WONT handle 2000w rms on a daily driver music setup..AND i heard a pioneer SPL today.. and it HAMMERS but is NOT a music sub.. its an air pump.. period.. slow sloppy non-musical subs.. i just realized you were running a DD amp too.. man.. honestly if you havent pulled the trigger yet.. id just run a matching DD sub.. those things are your best bet for it lasting on 3k imo..

My buddy was running 2 15'' HCCA's off a soundigital 8k, 4k on each sub no problems. Bassracing 52's-53's and burped 154.x in his jeep. They can take the power if you know what your doing.

Like i said.. they were talking about daily driver builds where the subs were running 2000w rms constantly in a natural listening environment.. and one guy was the guy responsible for all of RFs demo builds and the other one owns and builds for his own audio shop he has owned for 8 years.. so they def know what they are doing. I have a 1500w rms AA lvl3 12 here that will handle 4000w too.. just not for freaking long.. lol.. hell it might last forever if i only listened to a couple songs a day on it.. but one or two 45 minute car rides with the radio on and it wouldnt love me anymore. Im not saying they wont last if you give them time to warm and cool... im just saying i heard that from experience they cant handle road trip level abuse at those levels..

I decided to go with the DD 9515 and call it a day :)

YAY!! i think thats best.. plus.. a matching sub/amp is always a lil + anyway.. i mean who could know better how to push that sub than the company who made it in the first place.
