Ok. I took pics of the spark plugs...

Original's I put in the crate motor some 90k kms (56k miles) ago with no MSD IGN componants. All stock OEM IGN. Just a few engine mods...:)
These are AC-Delco 41-993's.

Upgraded to a heat range colder. Used them for less than 5k kms (3k miles) These are AC-Delco R42TS's. They were supposed to work better with an all MSD IGN. They are from the 4.3l vortec.
I didn't like them.

Now I'm back on a new set of 41-993's with the all MSD IGN. And I'm happy. I'll pull them out again at 16k kms(10k miles) and take pics. I'm at 270k kms (167k miles) on the body now...

Then we wait for Sunlitcomet to get to 10k...
I imagine that may take a while though...:D I know.. I know... Just Kidding!!!!!!

:nono: Probably because those are the wrong reach plugs for a Vortec. Look at the difference in thread length. Should've used R42LTS6 if you wanted a colder copper core plug, or R43LTS6 for the factory heat range.

HAHAHA!!!!! Dope!!! :Stupid Me: I feel like such a dumb a$$.....

You know...now that you mention it, I noticed that they stuck out more than the 41-993's but I didn't think anything of it.

Plugs are cheap... I think I'll try the R42LTS6 next.

EDIT: I just plugged that part# into summit racing and it doesn't even cross reference to a GM product. Well a Cadilac motor....How/where can I verify that part#? Thanks!

they don't fit a 5.7L only v6's
I was trying to point out they don't fit.
You had wanted parts verify right?

I also should mention that 605's are not colder the 104 are so I may change them at autozone. I am still debating the the colder plug theory.

R= resistor
43= heat range
L= long
TS= tapered seat
6= gap (.060)

14mm thread, .708 reach, 5/8 hex for BOTH plugs. Exactly the same as the 41-993 (imagine that )

The R42LTS6 fit IF you want a colder heat range plug in a copper core.

I don't need Amazon or RockAuto's ''what it fits'' page the specs are out there. Just like the guys at the parts stores, they gotta have a year,make, and model or they can't tell you anything. :idiot:
