Maybe in the spring I'll take a crack at it myself. Lil fiberglass and some bondo. Being a skilled drywall taper/finisher should help

All I got left is a blower but I'm afraid I need a 4l80e transmission conversion first and a new transfer case ready to be swapped in as soon as I break the one I have. So I'm thinking it won't happen.

Fix my brakes, fix my grinding sound in front end(if I can figure out what it is). Find a shop to build my 3 to 3.5 inch y pipe. Finish my blackbear tune. Get my headers and said y pipe installed. Led interior. Better lighting . Finish my stereo install. Small lift/level. New black wheels and offroad tires. Complete debadge. Get my auto level working. Brush guard with lights or new custom bumpers. Maybe a front winch. Replace roof carrier with a real rack. And a stroker or at least a cam swap and a stall converter.
After those few things, I would be happy for now.

The "want to do eventually" list: some bigger tires, I'm thinking 275/70r18, a gear swap (3.42 to 3.73), tint all around, exhaust.

The "need to do eventually" list: trans drain and fill (been putting it off because it looks like such a huge pain to drop the pan), new brakes/rotors, brake fluid change, coolant change.

We'll have to wait for VW to send me my recall buyback check for $17k after the $7k I still owe on the car is paid off....buying a VW 4 days before the court settlement may have been the best idea ever.

Fast forward since posting this thread...I've replaced:

Transmission cooler lines
Heater hoses & connectors
Brake fluid
Peeling OEM steering wheel spokes with the brushed metal style---highly recommended
Fugly factory resonator with SLP delete kit---again, highly recommended

Tomorrow it's the upper control arms and lower ball joints

Saturday it's the body-mounted weatherstripping for both rear doors plus the 'pleather' center console lid cover

I need this to be all for a good while. Wifey is not appreciating the steady rejuvenation project and is focused only on the accumulating expenses.
