    OnStar Aux Mod?

I also read somewhere you can tap into the onstar unit in the dash and use its GPS antenna. Seemed like too much effort just to use a GPS antenna since everyone has smart phones.

    custom door speaker pods

Nice work. Enclosure depends on the speaker specs. Speakers in this size range are typically designed to be free air (infinite baffle).

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

No bullshit. I used Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner and a soft brush on my never cleaned 2001 tan leather. I bought new leather for the front seats from the seatshop.com and they recommended it on the 2nd row for a one time cleaning. I thought he was joking. He swears by it and told me to...

    center console key?

That is correct. It is a separate smaller key. Forget the dealership. Search eBay for GM compartment key. Your key code is on the lock cylinder. I think I paid about $5. Works perfectly.

Question for you Backup cam(Monitor) pros...

I have the RCA connection to the monitor located in my glovebox. Sometimes I disconnect the rear camera and hook up an iPod to watch movies. For the audio you can connect to your head unit/headphones/external speakers depending on your set up. Next time I will get a monitor with two RCA inputs...

    stereo install help!!!

Sounds fine with radio? All speakers work? Then subs only with a CD? Sound like a head unit problem vs. a trigger wire problem. The trigger wire is pink. The other colors are speaker wires. Get a $10 metra harness. It's already color coded, except for the pink trigger wire for the factory amp.

    Interior lighting?

If you have basic soldering skills you can repair all of these yourself. Replacement 12v bulbs are available from Radio Shack. If you want colored LEDs there are websites other members here have used. I replaced the following bulbs (not LED) in my 01 burb. Climate control panel Headlight...

    Dash handle removal

You shouldn't have to remove the dash cover. You should have plenty of room wih the radio out and the glove box all the way open. Open the glove box and push in the stopper on the left side. This will allow the glove box to drop open all the way. Open the access panel on the right side of your...

Remove cassette player - Install the "Cuddy" Anyone have a P/N?

I have the Metra version. The GM version fits better around the opening. But for $10, I'm not complaining.

    stalling at idle?

I had a similar problem. Cleaned the throttle body and problem is gone. You do not have to completely remove the intake tube. Just disconnect it at he hose clamp and clean inside with a rag. I had a lot of build up around the edges of the butterfly. Make to open the butterfly and wipe clean all...

    catalytic question

This is common problem on our trucks. I have a 01 Suburban in CA. My driver side cat needs replacing and I have a CEL. Been driving around for about six months and truck seems fine. The CEL will go out for a day or two and then come back. I only found two replacement options which replace...

    Shock recommendations please.

I drive a 2001 Suburban LT 2wd, no auto ride. OEM 16" wheels and tires. For now, I am looking for replacement shocks for a smooth ride because we have a newborn in the family. Not sure if aftermarket is a good choice or OEM from another GM model like a Denali or Escalade. I appreciate the help.

I have a 2001 Suburban. The middle seat in the second row only has a lap belt and no headrest. What year did the second row middle seat change to a shoulder belt and headrest? I got my third kid on the way and it would nice to be able to sit another kid in that row. Thanks for the help.

    Replace seat cover

For install, watch their youtube videos to see if it is something you can handle. I replaced both front seat bottoms almost a year ago. Truck is my daily driver. Color and fit are perfect. I think the leather is softer/nicer than OEM leather was brand new. Customer service is great. Nice to be...

    WHERE to ground to chassis?

Nice choice for wiring and hardware. Knu website has info you need about fuse sizes, which depends on power of amps you're using. Calling them is good too. You may want to cover the grommet with some kind of tape if you are in a wet weather area.

    WHERE to ground to chassis?

I used the second row seat bolt. Ground should be less than 12 inches. I bought an extra nut from the dealer, turned it upside down and bolted down the ground wire. So the existing bottom nut holds the seat down and the top nut secures the ground wire on the same bolt. Make sure you use wire...
