It could also be the control unit itself.
Do you have auto or manual climate controls?
(Mine is manual and the rear temp and mode were acting up.)
Best to scan for any codes as well.
I distinctly remember the new 6.2 Delco Gold did not look like the 'Remy' starter pictured, but looked exactly like the Wai Global.
If I had to do it again, I'd probably just order the Wai Global... (Just because cheap, and it's easy enough to replace)
From when I bought the new starter...
Sounds like you need that bank 2 sensor 1. That might he enough to cause all those codes.?
I would replace that sensor first before getting into pulling plugs and fuel injectors.
If it was just 1 cylinder misfiring, you would have probably gotten a cylinder specific code I think...
yep, we're on the same page.
I was just more focused on the + side of the circuit, being there are more connections. Then you show up and be all negative. :p
Initially I thought he was measuring one terminal that went from 12V to 8V back to 12V.
Now I see he has one constant 12V, and the other goes from 8V to 12V.
bad ground doesn't explain the 8V, which should normally be 0V I thought?
Ohming the coil ground is solid advice. It looks like that...
Good luck, fingers crossed! Scanner should be able to tell you if the ignition if ECM/BCM are receiving the start signal.
Should be able to rule something out I'm sure..
You'll love it for all the little junk... money pens knife flashlight receipts tools keys charging crap.
There is still good bit of space underneath to store..
But if you frequently need to pull it out, maybe add on a handle or grip of some sort..
It's not comms with the BCM, it's just the ignition/key start signal. 12V.
and the yellow wire is the starter relay trigger signal.. The BCM is in the middle.
Here's all I can come up with..
Ignition switch "START" -> 12V to BCM (PINK J1-14) [no power? bad ignition switch]
BCM -> 12V to...
Also that 8V with key on seems too low..
Just accessories on right?
EDIT: I thought this was starter supply voltage, if coil trigger voltage, should be 0V with key not in 'start' position!
You need to have power on the pink wire from ignition switch (J1-14 on the BCM connector)
J1-21 is just accessory power, J1-14 is the ignition starter signal.
Then I would check the yellow wire (J4-21 on BCM connector). If nothing there, I have to think it's the BCM...?
I never found that auxillary grommet either..
Ended up using main harness grommet... as Trey said it's double booted.
Used a smooth stainless chopstick with silicon lube to get the wire through,
BUT still ended up poking a hole through the outer rubber boot. (taped up with electrical tape on...
The diagrams I see show the grounds on one end and the power and trigger on the other.
Try Pin 4 and see if you have power there, since you say you have ground on pin 1.
It looks like ignition switch signals BCM through a PINK wire (J1-14)
BCM sends relay signal through YELLOW wire (J4-21)
Some scanners can tell if your key is in the start position.. Good luck and keep us posted!
I'm not sure if the "PASSTHRU" in the diagrams directly passes through, or if...
AutoSync! ALL THE WAY!
They just added a new option (with BCM programming package) for headlights to remain on longer than 10mins with key off.
I think it's the same limit as the remote start run time extension.. just a little over 20mins.
Not that I really care about that, and I doubt he will...
The 12VDC isssue should be in the coil harness since they all connect to the same PINK wire.
Looks like there is BROWN/WHITE ECM ground (as well as the BLACK chassis ground) and a DARK GREEN/WHITE trigger.
What color is the trigger wire?
The diagam shown is an '08, but I don't think that would...
Oh man, I HATE seeing all that grass. This summer it was 105+ for a week or more..
My old neighbor calls and says, some grass looks a little tall. I say don't worry, I'll go cut it now..
Most of it was cut before, but there were a few patches of grass..almost done, the mower stops.. I look...
I had an O2 socket and a breaker bar, and I couldn't get mine to budge.
(Was meaning to drop exhaust, didn't need to.. )
My girfriends Toyota Rav4, popped out like you would expect. Threads perfect. Same age vehicle.
Different material or what? IDK.. sample of 1 doesn't mean anything..
But...
Totally agree, transmission tune transforms the truck.
ALTHOUGH, the 2017 shift schedule is not nearly as boggy as 07-14 tunes...
All factory 6l80 tunes engage 5th and 6th too early.
For 2017, 5th at 36mph, 6th at 46mph. Thus the constant hunting.
Not sure about the reverse to drive issue...
